- Al-Sharyan: We recall with pride the contributions of the early pioneers of the legal profession and their efforts to highlight the bright image of the Kuwaiti lawyer.
President of the Kuwaiti Lawyers Association, Lawyer Sharyan Al-Sharyan, said on Sunday that the association, since its establishment on March 24, 1963, has been keen to elevate the legal profession and highlight the role of lawyers in society as defenders of rights and justice for the oppressed.
Al-Sharyan added in a statement to KUNA on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the founding of the association that the association is proud of the presence of an elite group of Kuwaiti lawyers who served on its board of directors over these years and influenced the field of the profession and pushed for the approval of several fundamental amendments to the law regulating the legal profession, stressing the association’s aspiration to approve and establish a mechanism. More sophisticated acceptance of its practice.
He praised the association’s bright and active role at the Arab and international levels through the establishment of the Gulf Union, as Kuwait assumed the presidency of the Arab Lawyers Union and was able to obtain membership in international lawyers.

For his part, the Secretary of the Association, Attorney Khaled Al-Sufyan, expressed in a similar statement his pride in the contributions of the early pioneers of the legal profession and their wonderful efforts to highlight the bright image of the Kuwaiti lawyer at all levels.
Al-Sufyan said that the association today has the largest legal library at the level of bar associations in the world, an office archive, and electronic digitization containing more than 120,000 books, references, and legal rulings that can be browsed and inferred according to a very advanced global system, saying that this is “a reason for pride, especially since it is accessible to all Lawyers and also available to the people of Kuwait.
He added that several government agencies went to open representative offices in the main association building, such as the Legalization Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Information Office, the Lawyer Center for Litigation Services of the Ministry of Justice, the Office of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Citizen Service Center of the Ministry of Interior, all of which serve lawyers and citizens.
He said that this “is a real, important partnership between civil society organizations and government agencies,” noting that the extent of the development that has occurred in the building’s facilities includes a meeting hall, training rooms for members, and a health club for more social communication.
